The novel, Brighter than the Sun, deals with another element of the imperial sewer that society has not been able to get out of for many decades, and not for the lack of trying.  It is a subject of extreme depravity that Christian Science alone may be able to heal. Here is where my second novel comes into play that is not an element of the 12-part series, The Lodging for the Rose, which explores the moral, spiritual, and divine domain, but not the sub-moral such as the animal-force domain of the terror of a nuclear holocaust.

The novel, Brighter than the Sun, doesn't actually deal with a nuclear holocaust, but an attempt to prevent it. However, the attempt unfolds on the same platform on which the problem is created, whereby nothing is resolved and things get worse. Mary Baker Eddy's textbook chapter for the 5th element, which applies here, has the title, Animal Magnetism Unmasked. While the title refers to the practice of applying a type of animal magnetic force on another person for healing the sick, a practice  that had been pursued in her time, the underlying mode is still being applied and with potentially disasterous consequences. The mode is scientifically erroneous, dangerous, and with disasterous consequences as anything associated with nuclear war terror inherently is.

In its early stages animal magnetism was a type of hypnotism asserting a mental force by suggestion, and underneath that false platform is the deeper error that man is basically and an animal that has no freedom but is bound to respond with built-in responses that can be triggered be utilized  at will. And this is the platform on which the nuclear war terrorism games are played. The world once stood on a pile of 65,000 nuclear bombs in the mid 1980s. All the great nations built them to terrorize one another sufficiently so that they won't be used. Since then, we've seen 'disarmament,' so that there are barely 20,000 left, but what this matter when a hand full can disable an entire continent and eradicate much of the population.

The mind games for deterrence are still as dangerous today as they have always been, but they are not a power for good that can assure safety. They play on animal responses, the blind leading the blind, while the great principles that our civilization is built on, our humanist power, is kept in the background, hidden and locked up. Mind-force games are built on the false belief that the unintelligent is the path to good, error the precursor for freedom, and terror a force for good. This is insanity of course, but this is what society bases its existence on, and in many cases with the best intentions. Unfortunately, the best intentions proceeding from a false premise don't amount to much in the end. Mary Baker Eddy unmasks the dangerous impotence of a false premise. On such a premise we are as helpless as a rock to shape our destiny, security, and well-being.

In the novel, Brighter than the Sun, profound mental movements begin to emerge as the emptiness of the false becomes discredited by the logic of events. Mary Baker Eddy points out that we can take the needed footsteps scientifically, without being driven by the logic of events, because divine power for good, the power of Love, Spirit, Truth are ever available to guide human actions. In this the freedom of mankind can become rooted, politically, strategically, and socially. The logic for building a profound new renaissance in the world cannot be sidestepped. If the divine Principle of Universal Love does not govern society as it once did to some degree in 1648 when the great peace treaty of Westphalia established on the Principle of the Advantage of the Other, mankind will likely die like animals in the holocausts of animal responses guided by imperial mind games. But why should we pursue this road when the spiritual horizon offers an open door to freedom and security? In 1648, mankind's small step forward with the Principle of the Advantage of the Other, mankind ended 30 years of war. These are the kind of footsteps that are native for mankind, a divine species "clothed with sun" as the Revelator saw it, a woman crowned with twelve stars.
