The Universe is Power
and its power is electric

Mankind has been highly inventive in utilizing electric power. We illumine our world with electric lights of all sorts, animate our industries with electric motors, we melt steel in electric arc-furnaces. Electricity is the 'fire' of modern civilization. In Greek mythology the god Prometheus gave mankind the gift of "fire." He was able to do this, because the fire did already exist. The entire Universe is powered by it. Prometheus gave us a taste of it, by which humanity began to discover itself as a species endowed with power.

At the time when the Greek poet Aeschylus wrote his Prometheus trilogy, the fire was thermal energy. The discovery of electricity lay still far in the distance. To a large degree, this remains to be the case to the very day, though some significant breakthroughs have been made. 

In far too many respects, especially concerning the nature of electric power, the bulk of modern science is still shackled with the same type of 'religious' concepts that had prevented Ptolemy (90-168 AD) from recognizing the real nature of the planetary orbits. He was stuck with the notion that the planetary orbits must follow the path of perfect circles, because the circle is a perfect geometric form, and the heavens, after all, are perfect in every respect. Being stuck with that, Ptolemy invented the existence of epicycles, which are circles riding on a circle. He perceived the planets' orbits riding on the epicycles. He needed this fudge-factor to make the observed evidence fit the fundamental assumptions. These fudge factors ruled astronomy until Johannes Kepler (1571-1630), more than 14 centuries later, was able to prove them to have been false assumptions. Unfortunately modern science is still shacked with false axiomatic assumptions about the nature of the universe and mankind's place in it. In Ptolemy's time the shackles were imposed on science by religion. In our time the shackles are imposed by agents empire. 

One of the most deeply imposed shackles that weighs heavily on science is the so-called Second Law of Thermodynamics. The origin of this law is falsely traced to French physicist Sadi Carnot's 1824 paper Reflections on the Motive Power of Fire, which presented the view that motive power (expressed in work performed) is due to the flow of heat from a hot body to a cold body. The second law states that in a closed system differences in temperature, pressure, and chemical potential tend to even out so that entropy is a measure of how much this evening-out process has progressed. The second law therefore states that any process that occurs, which is work, increases the total entropy of a system, and therefore the universe. In other words the Universe is deemed winding down and self-consuming, with its energy dissipating.

One of the fundamental shackles promoted along this line, by the modern agents of empire, is the big bang theory of the Universe where the creation of the Universe started with a giant explosion in which all energy was created, with the conclusion that the Universe has been from this moment on in a constant spiral of winding down. This intentionally false perception (see: The Challenge of Mind) has been promoted to spread like a wildfire to rule almost the entire field of astronomy, cosmology, and high-energy physics. This theory presumes that the Universe is entirely shaped by the phenomena of mass and gravity, and is a closed system, and likewise every major aspect within it, including every solar system, so that every every sun is seen as a generally isolated gravity confined and gravity forced nuclear-fusion powered engine. 

But like Ptolemy had to recognize, the observable evidence tells a different story than the basic assumptions dictate, so that modern science is once again stuck with evidence that doesn't fit the gravity centered theory. To salvage the theory, new types of 'epicycles' have been invented. One of these is termed "dark matter," which cannot be seen, but is deemed to exist, because the assumed model does not work without this assumed fudge factor. Fortunately for the honor of science, the Keplers of our time say no to this nonsense that is born out of desperation. They say to mankind, open your eyes. They say, look there are far greater forces operating in the inverse than gravity. These are powerful forces, electric forces, which in fact power the Universe, and which, to some degree, we have already started to utilize on earth. 

The modern Kepler's have recognized that the same kind of the electric power that we utilize routinely to animate of our industries is infinitely abundant throughout the Universe, and does in fact power the universe. 

The conceptual hurtle that most scientists put up into their way of looking at the truth, is that in all common applications of electric power on earth, metallic conductors are required to enable the flow of electricity. They tend to ignore that it has already been recognized that other conductors for electricity exist, which are actually far more efficient electric conductors than metals, and that those more efficient conductors are actually already routinely used on earth. This the breakthrough is hard for a mind made small to accept that the same conductors that we already use do in fact exist throughout the universe in very large measures. 

These immensely efficient non-metallic conductors of electric currents are named plasma. In fact plasma is electricity. Plasma is a state of matter in which its basic components, called protons and electrons, are not bound into atoms, but are free flowing with each carrying an electric charge -- a positive charge for protons, and a negative charge for electrons. By not being bound into atoms where their charges are balanced against each other and thereby neutralized, the free-flowing charged particles can flow with lightning speed, motivated by the electric force according to electromagnetic principles, since the flow of an electric current creates a magnetic field of force around it. All magnetic phenomena in the Universe are exclusively the result of the flow of electric currents. And there are huge magnetic fields in the Universe.

The fact that vast electric currents can flow in a vaccum envirnment in plasma is routinely demonstrated in magnetically confined nuclear fusion experiments. In the National Spherical Torus Experiment, (NSTX) at the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab, for example,  plasma currents in the rage of one million amperes have been created. This immense current is flowing in a complete vacuum environment (see: Overview - p.16). The international ITER machine, which will be build on the NSTX research, is expected to increase the achieved plasma-currents another ten-fold. These kinds of large electric currents flowing in complete vacuum are being are routinely observed pervading the galaxies, and in fact aslo the whole Universe, between the galaxies.

Like the Universe, our solar system is equally pervaded and powered by vast flows of electric currents. It isn't a secret any longer that every star and sun is powered by very large electric currents flowing into it, from the electric power-flows that pervade all galaxies. The currently available evidence suggests that the theory of the internally heated, fusion-powered Sun, is based on completely false assumptions. The visible evidence is clearly showing that the Sun is powered electrically by plasma-electric currents flowing into it, heating the Sun from the outside at its very surface, in an electric arc-mode action.

The evidence for the surface-powered Sun is glaringly obvious in the sunspots. Sunspots occur when a small potion of the photosphere, where the electric heating takes place, is torn away and hurled into space by an electric overload condition, as explained by Nobel Price laureate Hannes Alfven. The rupturing of the photosphere enables one to see the layer beneath, which is substantially colder. The active portion of the photosphere is heated to 5,800 degrees, but the layer below it, at the center of the sunspot is measured as only 3,000 degrees hot. In fact, this layer is so 'cold' that if the entire Sun was at this temperature, it would be no brighter than the moon is at night.

If the Sun was heated from the inside, the lower layer would be very much brighter, instead of being colder. The basic discovery by Hannes Alfven of the electrically powered Sun holds an enormously huge promise for us on the third-closest planet to the Sun. It tells us that our planet is afloat in a vast sea of electric plasma, which the Sun is attracting with its immense gravity and electric potential. While the electric power density is evidently more intense the closer it gets to the Sun, it is evidently still sufficiently intense at our distance from the Sun to meet all of mankind's comparatively puny power requirements if we would but tap into this vast sea of available electric power, which offers an 'infinite' resource. Herein lies the power resource for our future. It is like a Prometheus is tapping us on the shoulder for a third time, saying, I give you the 'fire' of the Universe if you can grasp it.

In real terms the Earth is attracting the same kind of electric current flow as the Sun does, except on a smaller scale. The Earth's gravitational attraction is minuscule in comparison with that of the Sun, nevertheless it attracts a significant amount of the galactic plasma which interacts with the Earth's magnetic field and with the outer layers of its atmosphere where a charge separation can be observed, causing visible electric current flows between the surface and the various regions of the atmosphere.

Typically the ionosphere extends from about 60 Km to nearly 1000 Km above the surface. The region of high electron density begins above 70 to 80 Km and peaks at 300 Km with a 100 times greater. The bottom line is that there is lots of electricity in the ionosphere. Some of it no doubt originated from the Sun via UV radiation and solar winds, the major portion of it evidently originated from the galactic plasma that powers the Sun itself. The highest concentrations have been observed in two bands encircling the Earth near the equator, apparently magnetically organized.

It would be surprising if the Earth were not 'intensely' active, with it being as close to the Sun as we are, which puts us into a more concentrated electric environment that becomes concentrated near the Sun. While the electric-power concentration around our 'puny' Sun is not dense enough to be visible, the concentration effect sometimes becomes visible around the center of extremely powerful galaxies as the one in the photograph below.

The image below is that of galaxy M104 (sombrero) created with the Hubble telescope of NASA. It illustrates on the gigantic scale the principles that are also recognized to be operating within the our solar heliosphere on the 'minuscule' scale.

The image illustrates that the electric power density near the center of it -- near the Sun in the case of our solar system where our planet is located -- should be quite substantial. On a scale model that plots our entire solar heliosphere into a space spanning three feet, the earth would be less than a centimeter distant from its Sun. The above photograph illustrates in principle that our close approximation to the Sun in the heliosphere, puts us deep into the highly power-intense region (in terms of the prevailing plasma-electric density) that surrounds around our Sun.

Our planet's own gravity and electric potential attracts a portion of the surrounding electric plasma in which the Earth has its orbit, which, for example electrifies the ionosphere of our planet and creates an electric field between it and the Earth's surface. The evidence that there exist vast amounts of electricity in the ionosphere becomes visible when great thunderclouds reach high up towards the ionosphere, from which glowing plasma currents have been observed extending between the top of the clouds and the ionosphere. In a very real way the massive lightening strikes (a type of electric arc-mode phenomenon), which we observe on the ground, are plasma-electric events powered by electricity from astrophysical sources, that is flowing to us in the power streams that power the Sun. 

It may well be that this type of solar power, the power that flows into the sun, will some day soon supply mankind's power needs on this planet and become the predominant power source, so that nuclear-fission and nuclear-fusion power-systems become obsolete as an electricity resource, though they would remaining a valuable driver for efficient high-temperature industrial processes.

The technology for utilizing the galactic power flows shouldn't be difficult to develop, since the principles behind the Birkeland currents that facilitate self-aligned plasma-based electric currents are already well understood.

The biggest breakthrough that lays before mankind at the present stage is not a challenge of physical limits, but is a mental challenge to mankind to break out of its long entrenched habits of perception that hide the nature of the Universe that unfolds before our very eyes. This means stepping away from entropic concepts such as the fusion powered sun, according to which, the universe is deemed winding down and self-consuming. Instead the Universe is richly powered and vastly expanding like foam upon the seashore, and is also progressing qualitatively. If this was not so the Universe would be doomed to self-extermination.

It took the leading edge thinkers in astronomy more than 14 centuries to break out of the confining mysticism that had crippled the work of Ptolemy. We may be closer today to break out of the mysticism of a gravity-only universe that renders the Sun a self-consuming fusion furnace and the Universe a winding down entropic phenomenon. Sure, we have a lot of dead would to clear out of the closet of science before we get there. And the battle won't be easily won. The breakout towards accessing to the Universe's infinite power resources is hampered by everything that the forces of empire are able to thrown against the advance of science, as H. G. Wells had advocated a century ago as being necessary for an empire to survive. It is not surprising therefore that the great mysticism of the big-bang and black-holes theories were conjured up by the Royal Society in a timely response to the growing recognition in science of the electrically powered nature of the Universe that opens up infinite resources for mankind, and with it the brightest renaissance ever.

Fortunately the days of empire are waning, as empire is driving itself in the ground evermore rapidly, with its insanity, poverty, fascism, looting, and quests for depopulation genocide - meaning that a bright future lies before us.

The dark spots are cutouts of images too bright for the imaging system, versus the dark background, which stands out beautifully. Can you make out the faint electric-current filaments that connect the tiny distant spots that are galaxies together into networks of stings like beads on a thread?
